90th Birthday — Orvie A. Stirn

LIMA — Orvie A. Stirn will celebrate his 90th birthday Feb. 3, 2012. An open house was held yesterday at the Community Room at Otterbein, Cridersville.
He was born to Arnold and Alice Stirn on Feb. 3, 1922. In 1946, he married Dorothy Tucker.
Stirn has two daughters, five grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, serving in Europe and North Africa.
He worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad and retired from the N&S Railroad. He owned and operated his own automobile service garage for many years.
Stirn enjoys fishing and bowling.
He is a member of the Lima Post of VFW. In October, 2011, he was selected to particate in the Honor Flight tribute to veterans.
He attends Shawnee Alliance Church and The Keenagers.
