Delphos
Stanley L. Kill, 55, died at 9:51 a.m. Nov. 8, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 29, 1954, in Lima to Alphonse J. “Mike” and Mamie Louth Kill, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Kill was a member of St. John the Evangelical Catholic Church, Delphos. He had been a construction worker for Smith Construction Co. and had worked at Eagle Printing Co. He was a member of the Stanley Adams Band. He loved gardening. He had a great love for children and enjoyed hosting an annual Easter egg hunt at his residence. He was a simple man and never wanted for much, but always took great joy in spending time with his family and friends. He loved birds and animals and will be deeply missed by his cat, Chester. He was a 1972 graduate of St. John’s High School.
Survivors include six siblings, Gloria “Sadie” Bourk, of Lima, Evelyn (Bob) Mills, of Delphos, Dave (Etta) Kill, of Spencerville, Glen (Maggie) Kill, of Landeck, Phyllis “Phud” (Jim) Calvelage, of Delphos, and Roger (Pamm) Kill, of Venedocia; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald “Stoney” (Marlene) Kill; and a brother-in-law, Bill Bourk.
Services will begin at noon Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Father Jacob Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery, Spencerville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
