Spencerville
Eva Conner, 83, died at 3 a.m. Oct. 5, 2008, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Charleston, W.Va., to Dial and Dosie Messer Patrick, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 21, 1946, she married Fred J. Conner Jr., who died Jan. 18, 2003.
Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and had worked during World War II at the Lima Tank Plant. She was a 1944 graduate of the Hindman, Ky., High School.
Survivors include a son, Bernard L. "Ben" (Carolyn) Conner, of Cridersville; two daughters, Carol Sue (James) Hoffer, of Lima, and Barbara A. (Keith) Bantner, of rural Spencerville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Thelma) Patrick, of Fairborn; three sisters, Mabel Coburn Krendl, of Spencerville, Mildred (Alfred) Fields, of Dayton, and Mavis Moore, of Hindman, Ky.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild; and two infant brothers, Dial Jr. and Stanley Patrick.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Tom Shobe will officiate. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, east of Spencerville.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
