Lucille E. Spangler, 84, died at 4:15 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born July 4, 1925, in Miller City to Frederick and Amelia Hanneman Hermiller, who preceded her in death. On May 7, 1946, she married Paul J. Spangler, who died June 11, 2002.
Mrs. Spangler retired from Philips ECG, Ottawa. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, bot in Leipsic. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards and playing bingo.
Survivors include three sons, James Spangler and David (Marlene) Spangler, both of Leipsic, and Dennis Spangler, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Donna Jean Morman, of Leipsic; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Meyer.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Spangler; two sisters, Anna Kuhlman and Mary Gores; two brothers, Albert and Donald Hermiller; and a son-in-law, Bill Morman.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. The Rev. George Wenzinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, where an Eagles Auxiliary service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and an Altar Rosary Society service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
