What lessons should we be learning from the wars? The Lima News invited veterans to attend a roundtable meeting to discuss their war experiences, to offer their answers and thoughts regarding lessons we should be learning from wars, and to share their ideas for supporting those currently serving the U.S. during war time.

Many topics are explored during the roundtable, including what role politicians should play during war time, the helpfulness or harmfulness of the draft to a war effort, and the importance of every person doing his or her part to help during a war.

World War II veterans Ken Kraus, Clifford Rison, Charles DeLong and Chester Young, and Vietnam veteran Jim Weeden talk about what they learned during their time serving the United States. The Lima News’ Nell Daum, a Gulf War veteran, leads the discussion.
