Cary Son Smith, 75, died at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 26, 2008, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.

He was born June 21, 1933, in Jackson, Miss., to Nathan and Annie Mae Henry Smith Sr., who preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith had worked at Churchill Construction and Fritche Asphalt companies.

Survivors include three sons, Cary Smith Jr., of Sun City, Fla., and Donald Smith and Eugene Smart, both of Lima; a stepson, William Kirkman; a daughter, Luticia Sherrod, of Chicago; and three stepdaughters, Marcia Kirkman, Donna Kirkman and Cynthia Kirkman; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charlie (Josie) Smith, of Milwaukee, and Willie Smith, Myles (Debbie) Smith and John (Kathey) Smith, all of Lima; and three sisters, Pinnie M. Washington and Tempy Anderson, both of Orlando, Fla., and Queenie (Darnell) Harris, of Lima.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathan Jr. and James Smith; and two sisters, Cornelius Thomas and Willie Mae Anderson.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Toney will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
