Soldier earned many medals for service in war

I served in the Army National Guard from March 1962 to March 1965 in the 2nd battalion, 148th infantry, Lima

I earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign medal with 60 device, combat infantry badge, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with “V” device and oak leaf cluster, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unite Citation.

 
 Never forget that war, no matter how justified, is not a crime. Ask the infantry and ask the dead.

 

I was in the Army from September 1967 to November 1970.

 

I served in Vietnam from March 1968 to November 1969.

 

I was a forward observer for D company 1st battalion, 22nd infantry, 4th infantry Division.

 

I was first wounded April 25, 1968, in the Battle of Chu Moor Hill.
