Emma E. Seeberger, 90, died at 2:55 a.m. June 24, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Indian Fields, N.Y., to Willis J. and Myrtle Ormsbee Simpkins, who preceded her in death. In April 1936, she married Claude R. Seeberger, who died March 23, 2006.
Mrs. Seeberger had been a nurse, a banker and administrator for a senior citizens complex. She was a longtime member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include a foster son, Edward A. (Nancy) Hoffmeyer, of Lima; a sister, Carol Perry-Frisby, of Walla Walla, Wash.; three grandchildren, Benjamin Petit, Lorilee (Bryon) Lippincott and Camden (Suzie) Ross; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. Seeberger; her stepfather, Harry Parmele; three brothers, Robert, Alvah and Edward Simpkins; and two sisters, Viola Bullock and Alice Starr.
Memorial services will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Bruce Hayward will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, Ravena, N.Y.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seventh-day Adventist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
