BATH TOWNSHIP — Ethan Bettinger had a busy afternoon. The Coldwater pitcher picked up a save in game one and a complete-game win in game two as the Cavaliers swept Bath on Saturday — 7-4 in the first game and 3-1 in the second.

Bettinger gave up four hits and three runs in 8.2 innings of work, moving his record 4-1.

Aaron Rammel had two doubles for the Cavaliers (11-7). Drew Klosterman had a double, three RBIs and two runs in the first game.

Reese Klenke got the win in the first game, throwing 5.1 innings. He improved to 5-1.

Columbus Grove 6

Liberty-Benton 1

Van Buren 5, Columbus Grove 3

COLUMBUS GROVE — Aaron Vorst picked up his first win of the season as Grove topped L-B in the first game of a split doubleheader. Vorst allowed five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings. The Bulldogs (8-7) pounded out 10 hits, with nine singles and a first-inning double from Vorst.

In the second game, short stop Zack Barrientes had a single and a triple for Grove, scoring twice. The Knights used a four-run first inning to put the game out of reach.

Miller City 8, Pandora-Gilboa 7

PANDORA — Brent Hermiller went all eight innings, giving up only three earned runs against nine strikeouts to improve his record to 4-1. The Wildcats scored twice in the seventh to take a one-run lead and another in the top of the eighth to take the win.

Cody Dukes had four singles for Miller City (6-8).

Kalida 10, McComb 9

Delphos St. John’s 13, Kalida 3

KALIDA — Kalida pounded out 15 hits in the first game, a win over McComb. The Wildcats scored six runs in the first two innings. Kevan Unverferth picked up the pitching win.

Delphos St. John’s rolled in the second game, out-hitting the Wildcats 13-4. Tyler Ditto had two doubles for the Blue Jays (7-4). Jordan Leininger pitched the win.

Kristopher Osterhage smacked a homer for Kalida (7-3) in the second game.

Shawnee 3-11

Fort Loramie 0-3

FORT LORAMIE — Jared Dupes threw a no-hitter for Shawnee in the first game, striking out nine batters. Dominic Crea had two hits and two RBIs for the Indians.

Crea went 3-for-3 in the second game, driving in two more runs. Bruce Roberts got his first pitching win of the season as the Indians (9-8) held Fort Loramie (11-5) to four hits.

Paulding 11-3, Spencerville 7-2

PAULDING — Jason Koenn and Zack Gawronski each hit home runs for Paulding in the first game of a doubleheader sweep. Logan Stoller pitched the win in game one.

Stoller hit a double in the second game. Derrick Pease threw a no-hitter.

Elida 18-9, Woodmore 2-6

ELMORE — Mackenzie Hampshire had four hits, three of them doubles, and drove in four runs during the Bulldogs big game one win. Andy Clevenger went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run. Jake Porter picked up the win.

David Diller pitched the win in the second game. Dalton Martz hit a home run.

Allen East 8, Perry 3

Ben Logan 4, Perry 2

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Tyler Wilson had two hits, including a triple, scored twice and drove in three runs for Allen East. The Mustangs scored five runs in the third and fourth innings. Ben Sanders drove in two runs for Perry (5-7).

Trevor Wallace and Tyler Cornwell each scored in the loss to Ben Logan.

SOFTBALL

Parkway 4-7, Fort Loramie 1-1

ROCKFORD — Emily Crowell had another monster day. She threw a four-hitter in the first game, striking out 10 batters. She had a home run in each game, raising her season mark to seven. She went 5-for-7 on the day, scoring five times and driving in three runs.

Kylie Snyder threw a two-hitter in the second game, striking out 11. Parkway improved to 12-2 while Fort Loramie fell to 16-4.

Shawnee 9-8, Coldwater 8-0

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Shelby Lucas, Sami Bullock and Liz Aller all had five hits on the day as Shawnee improved to 15-0 overall. Aller had two doubles in the first game and Lauren Dicke belted a home run, when the Indians scored in the bottom of the seventh to secure the victory. Kay Shick picked up her first pitching win of the season.

Bullock improved her pitching record to 13-0 with another dominating performance, allowing only one hit in seven innings. Lucas and Aller each had three hits in the game.
