Robert P. Daugherty, 72, died at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008, at  Defiance Inpatient Hospice, Defiance.

He was born April 2, 1936, in Spencerville to Paul and Gladys Siler Daugherty, who preceded him in death. On April 24, 1965, he married Kathryn Bowersock, who survives in Kalida.

Mr. Daugherty was a farmer and had worked at Fruehauf Trailer Corp., Delphos. He was a member of Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont.

Survivors also include two sons, John (Tina) Daugherty, of Tipp City, and David (Christine) Daugherty, of Cloverdale; two daughters, Peggy (David) Schroeder, of Columbus Grove, and Ruth (Steven) Talbott, of Cloverdale; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou (Ed) Shick, of Elida.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Daugherty.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont. The Rev. Terry Porter will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
