Mary Anna Pryer

Mary Anna Pryer, 70, died at 4:37 p.m. Dec. 2, 2009, at her residence.
She was born July 12, 1939, in Lake City, Tenn., to Carl and Marcella Lucas Martin, who preceded her in death. On June 13, 1956, she married Charles D. Pryer, who died Aug. 7, 1985.
Mrs. Pryer was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. She was a co-founder, along with her husband, of Pilgrim Lighthouse Church, where she was the pianist. She loved to garden and spend time in the sun. Her favorite pastime was going to church. She had worked as a nanny for Dr. and Mrs. Pai for more than 20 years and had been the caregiver to her sister, Fredia, for 21 years. She loved to read her Bible and the newspaper, and she loved to sing. She was the world’s best mother.
Survivors include four children, Mary (fiancé Chandler Cook) Jones, of Lima, Mike (Linda) Pryer, of New Regal, Dave (Maureen) Pryer, of Harrod, and Rebecca (John) Yohe, of Lima; 13 grandchildren, Larry (Dana) Jones, Harry Jones, Jerry Jones, Perry Thomas Jones, Carrie Jones, Lelia (Jordan) Miller, Charlie Pryer, David Pryer, Jeremy Pryer, Justin Pryer, Elizabeth Yohe, Jay Yohe and Daniel Carnes; five great-grandchildren, Lainey Miller, Jaxon Miller, Ashlyn Pryer, Kartyr Jones and Karlye Jones; and three sisters, Fredia Carr, Marguerite (Ted) McPheron and Martha (Dan) Carnes.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. The Rev. Judy Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lighthouse Church.
