Letter: Religions have vast differences

Melissa G. Goodwin does not understand what she asks when she wants people of different faiths to pray together. I am a Christian and I would never offend Jesus Christ by praying with a person that does not pray to the same God that I pray to or that prays to dead humans.

 Jesus Christ is God that came to earth in a human body to die and be resurrected to save us from the hell that we are all headed to if we do not admit that we are sinners separated from a holy God. When we make Jesus the lord of our life, we understand that there is no other God that deserves our worship, prayers or gratitude. If I try to please people by saying their religion is the same as mine, then I am not a servant of Christ.

 The differences between the religions are vast. Christians believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, the only book of perfect truth. Only Christianity puts Jesus in his proper place as King of Kings. He is not a prophet, a good teacher or the brother of Satan. He is perfect, holy, truth, creator, judge. We receive his grace to be obedient to our faith. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Thou shall have no other gods before me.
