Lee Comer, 89, died at 6:38 p.m. Oct. 20, 2009, at the Golden Living Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Phenix City, Ala., to Joseph Comer and Eddie Will Jones Parrish, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 18, 1945, he married Mary Comer, who died Oct. 28, 1994.
Mr. Comer had been a carpenter for White Brothers Contractors. He was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ollie Mae Smith, of Dayton; five grandchildren, Caroline Hines, Johnnie Smith, Wayne Smith, Sylvia Smith and Steve Smith; three nieces, Anna Nichols, Ora Parrish and Kendis Parrish, all of Lima; a nephew, Richard Parrish, of Lima; a brother, Randy Parrish, of Talbotton, Ga.; and a sister, Ann Wilson, of Manchester, Ga.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Lee, Jimmy and Richard Parrish; and a sister, Georgia Lee William.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Toney will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
