Nursing program community asset
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Until recently, I was unaware of the St. Rita's Medical Center provision for a neighborhood nurse program. For many in our community, I would venture to say this is one of those services that go unnoticed.
Until my mother became terminally ill, I didn't realize the importance. In retrospect, I now see the benefit of using those services, long before one succumbs to an illness. There never were supplies, resources, support or medical explanation we lacked once our neighborhood nurse frequented my mother. From hospital visits to home visits, she was there. This is an exemplary example of giving back to the community. So kudos to St. Rita's and our nurse, Cindy Brownlow.
I encourage everyone to contact your neighborhood nurse. It is a valuable asset, and the preventative measures available and suggested may be life saving.
