Deshler
Ruth C. Neiling, 85, died the morning of Nov. 15, 2009, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Holgate.
She was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Shelby to A.L. and Laura Maag Crumrine, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 9, 1946, in New Bavaria, she married Clarence J. Neiling, who died June 24, 2000.
Mrs. Neiling was a homemaker and had worked at Koppenhofer Brothers Poultry and Deshler Products/Sherwin Williams. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the annual fall outing at Oak Openings Park. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8847 Auxiliary, New Bavaria.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara (William) Henning, of Bowling Green, Marilyn (David) Kihm, of Bluffton, Marie (Richard) Feehan, of Bowling Green, and Shirley (Raymond) Gerschutz, of Leipsic; three sons, Edward (Deborah) Neiling and Joseph Neiling, both of Deshler, and Larry (Nancy) Neiling, of Mauldin, S.C.; 16 grandchildren, Dawn Henning, Laura Henning, Matthew Henning, Melissa Brinkman, Kristy Schweingruber, Tonya Van Fossen, Brad Feehan, Lisa Vriezelaar, Beth Bazeley, Brandi Gerschutz, Mitchell Neiling, Alexa Neiling, Rachel Neiling, Michelle Neiling, Julie Wojner and Sara Orozco; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Brown, of Leipsic, and Rita (Robert) Layne, of Defiance; and a brother, Clifford Crumrine, of New Bavaria.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Gilbert and Virgil Crumrine.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler. Father Paul Fahrbach will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Parish Foundation or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
