Lima
Robert E. Moyer, 74, of Columbus, formerly of Lima, died Jan. 3, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Lima to Clarence and Laura Hardesty Moyer, who preceded him in death. On June 30, 1979, he married Carol Patrick, who survives in Columbus.
Mr. Moyer had been a real estate agent for Brokers & Associates, Columbus. He was a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors, the Rotary Club in Whitehall and Bexley and the Ohio High School Athletic Association. He enjoyed being a high school football referee for several years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been a red coat at The Ohio State University. He had an interest in aviation and was a licensed pilot.
Survivors also include two sons, Stephen Moyer, of New York, and Chad (Nancy) Moyer, of Powell; two daughters, Alison (Casey) Redmond, of Logan, and Melissa (Jeff) Donato, of Lewis Center; a brother, Howard (Juanita) Moyer, of Findlay; and 10 grandchildren, Zachary, Cooper, Kelly, Mary, Lainey, Bryce, Ellie, Amelia, Anthony and Meghan.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Hickey.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Ed Rinehart will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
