William Eugene McCrate

OTTAWA

William Eugene McCrate, 60, died at 3:30 a.m. Oct. 3, 2008, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.

He was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Columbus Grove to Francis Lane and Jessie Lucille Maidlow McCrate, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Kathy Diehl, who preceded him in death.

Mr. McCrate had worked at Sylvania/Philips, Ottawa. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include five sons, Brian McCrate, of Ottawa, Andrew McCrate, of Dallas, Jeffrey (Brittany) McCrate, of Ottawa, Steven McCrate, of Denver, and Keith (Courtney) McCrate, of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Lindsay, Madison, Paige, Domenick, Carter, Elley and Grayson; two brothers, Dennis (Marie) McCrate, of Barnesville, and James (Pearl) McCrate, of Pandora; and a sister, Kathleen (Pete) Beckman, of Pandora.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Molly A. McCrate.

Services will begin 2 p.m. today at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Pastor Mary Bushong will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.

Friends may call one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.
