Warren Neal Mason

Lima

Warren Neal Mason, 88, died at 6:25 a.m. Dec. 4, 2009, at Lost Creek Care Center.

He was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Hillery and Mollie Rachel Partin Mason, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 11, 1948, he married Eleanor Martin, who died Aug. 27, 1975.

Mr. Mason retired from Fair Radio Sales, after 23 years. He had also worked at Lima Locomotive Works and Superior Coach. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was an avid bowler. He sang with Happy Mitch and the Del Rio Cowboys for 17 years. He had lived in Laurel, Fla., from 1978 until 2006. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Warren E. (Debbie) Mason, of Lima, and Rodney L. Mason, of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Lauretta Evans, of Rotunda West, Fla., and Joyce (Richard) Johnson, of Elida; a brother, Larry (Kathy) Mason, of Lima, a brother; and two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Ada Martin, Edna Sampson, Edith Cawood, Ora Lee Crites, Elizabeth Ackerman, June Evans and Helen, Leonard F., Hillery Jr. and Willard A. Mason.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Inman will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
