    Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Ludwig, 71, died at 3:55 a.m. July 23, 2008, at The Ridge at Shawnee.

    She was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Lima to Joseph A. and Stella Hartzog Faccenda Sr., who preceded her in death. On Aug. 26, 1961, she married Franklin P. Ludwig, who survives in Lima.

    Mrs. Ludwig had retired as a long distance operator from United Telephone/Sprint. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima. She was a 1955 graduate of Shawnee High School. She enjoyed bingo, reading, fishing and watching sports.

    Survivors also include a son, Timothy W. Ludwig, of Lima; a brother, Joseph Faccenda Jr., of Enon; and two sisters, Margaret Kirwan, of Lima, and Yvonne "Bonnie" Kochis, of Endicott, N.Y.

    She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank "Bud" Faccenda; and a sister, Rosemarie Foley.

    Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Father Tim Ferris will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.

    Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Rita's Hospice.
