Karl Franklin Hoover

Lima - Karl Franklin Hoover, 69, of Fremont, formerly of Lima, died July 29, 2010.

He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Lima to X.F. and Veda Miller Hoover, who preceded him in death. On June 9, 1968, at Lookout Mountain, Ga., he married Jacquelyn “Jackie” Fulghum, who survives.

Mr. Hoover was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and received his associate degree from Terra Community College in heating, ventilation and air conditioning. He retired in 1996 as a store keeper from Ohio Power/AEP after 35 years. During that time he owned and operated Karl Hoover Home Appliance & HVAC Repair. He was also licensed as an electrician in Ohio and kept very busy. His latest project was completed in April. He attended Grace Brethren Chapel, Fremont. His hobby was his work and helping other people. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 40 years participating as a troop leader and going on camp outs where he served as a cook. He has now gone to be with the Lord.

Survivors also include a son, John Franklin (Brenda) Hoover, of Wisconsin; a granddaughter, Katherine; surrogate grandchildren, Michael Lane and Reyna Guardiola; and a sister, Kay (Jim) Sanders, of Marshall, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hoover; and two sisters, Marilyn Price and Jeanne Hoover.

Services will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at Grace Brethren Chapel, Fremont. Pastor Keith Merriman will officiate.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Chapel Building Fund.
