Evelyn Marie Kerr, 92, died at 8:10 p.m. Dec. 24, 2009, at Otterbein Nursing Home, Cridersville.
She was born Oct. 25, 1917, in West Newton, to Josiah S. and Nellie H. Copeland Rex, who preceded her in death. On March 27, 1938, she married George Lyman Kerr, who died March 25, 2005.
Mrs. Kerr was a 1959 graduate of Ohio Northern University, earning a bachelor of science degree in education. She was a teacher in Lima schools, Auglaize schools and Ada schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lima.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Elaine McCluer, of Lima, and Evon Annette Erickson, of Lima; a brother, Bob Rex, of Lima; a granddaughter, Jodi (Jeff) Thomas; two grandsons, Matthew (Amy) McCluer and Edward Erickson; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Zakary Thomas and Peyton and Parker McCluer.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Rex; and a sister, Frances Jacobs.
A private family service will be held. The Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel.
