Lima - Ronald C. Miller, 71, died at noon Dec. 11, 2009, at his home in Lima surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 5, 1938, in Lima to Burlon and Ethel Hostetler Miller. On Aug. 4, 1971, he married Patricia A. Neace, who died April 3, 2008.
Mr. Miller ran Sohio stations for many years. He also worked at Timmerman Ford and Irwins GMC as a heavy duty truck mechanic. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida. He enjoyed going out in his boat and fishing. He and Mom would take off on fishing trips every chance they could to go to Coldwater, Mich. They dearly loved it up there. He also loved working in his yard and he loved his animals. He was very devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all his family, friends and his church. He will be deeply missed and always will be in our hearts.
Survivors include a son, Charles W. (Rose) Miller, of Santa Maria, Calif., four step-sons, Charles R. “Randy” Nease, of Oldtown, Ky.; Pastor James David (Mindy) Neace, of Flatwoods, Ky.; Gary M. (Vickie) Neace, of Greenup, Ky., and Richard A. Neace, of St. Marys; four step-daughters, Angela G. (Bud) Baker, of Columbus Grove; Bonnie “Diane” (Tracy) Brown, of Oldtown, Ky.; Kimberly (Kenneth Bryant) Shaeffer, of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Patricia “Jeannette” Gibbs, of Spencerville; a sister, Carol Ann Miller Kortokrax, of Antwerp; a brother-in-law, Gary R. “Butch” Adkins, of Lima; three sisters-in-law, Ruth M. (Larry) Phalen, of Kalida, Linda S. (Carl) Duger, of Columbus Grove, and Cindy D. (Randy) Harrah, of Akron; 29 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Neace; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Green, Sandra Garrett and Pamela Adkins; and a father and mother-in-law, John and Elsie Bubb.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne St. Chapel Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes. Pastors James Neace and Gary Rode will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery in Elida.
