Lima

Brenda J. Meyers, 56, of Holgate, formerly of Lima, died peacefully Nov. 29, 2009, at her residence.

She was born June 5, 1953, in Lima to Clyde “Junior” and Dora Hubbard Hunter, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 18, 1973, she married Gene Meyers, who survives in Holgate.

Mrs. Meyers had been a clerk at Walmart, was a disc jockey at the Napoleon Roller Rink and had worked at Campbell’s Soup Co., Napoleon. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holgate. She was a 1971 graduate of Bath High School, Lima.

Survivors also include three daughters, Janeen (Don) Miller, of Sylvania, Valerie Meyers, of Holgate, and Denise (Chad) Doda, of Defiance; a son, Ryan (Melissa) Meyers, of Napoleon; six grandchildren, Emily, Isaiah, Andrew, Rachel, Allison and Mason; a sister, Doloras (Tommy) Hicks, of Columbus Grove; and four brothers, Clyde “Bud” (Thelma) Hunter, of Oakwood, Ron Hunter, of Vaughnsville, Don Hunter, of Columbus Grove, and Robert “Bob” (Linda) Hunter, of Lima.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holgate. Burial will be private.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
