Roger G. Lehman, 77, died at 6:10 a.m. Oct. 24, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Bluffton to Vilas and Marie Bogart Lehman, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 11, 1952, he married Marilyn J. Stephens, who survives.
Mr. Lehman attended Shawnee United Methodist Church. He was a 1950 graduate of Bluffton High School. He retired from SOHIO/Vistron/BP Chemical in 1988, where he worked as chief chemical operator. His memberships included SOHIO Quarter Century Club; American Legion Post 96; life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, Spencerville; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 667, St. Marys; and Lima Ohio Harley Owners Group Chapter 3786. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Purdue Boilermakers. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and took great pride in home landscaping. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors also include a son, Greg (Dawn) Lehman, of Lafayette, Ind.; a daughter, Belinda P. (Dr. William) Zipf, of Delaware; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Lane and Lucas; a great-granddaughter, Mckenna; three stepgrandchildren, Will, Thanda and Bobby; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald D. (Barb) Lehman, of Mount Cory; two nephews, Matthew Lehman and Jason Lehman; a sister-in-law, Sandra Gorby, of Lima; a brother-in-law, Robert A. (Barb) Stephens, of Phoenix; and his beloved dog, Rambo.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Lehman.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Bryan Bucher will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, where military rites will be performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where an American Legion Post 96 memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.
