Letter: Jordan doesn't vote for those who elected him
I have been wondering whom Jim Jordan actually represents in Washington. I have heard about him most recently for his press conference in Bluffton where he did not actually answer any of the questions that were asked. He answered most things the with the usual Washington rhetoric that the Democrats are ruining the country.
I have done some checking on his voting record. One easily can see he has joined the party of no even if the legislation would help the very people who elected him. He has voted no on virtually all family and children legislation, voted no on all environmental Issues, voted no on most budgeting and spending issues except making sure that funding was banned for ACORN and voting no on legislation that would have required states to inspect, repair and come up with a plan to replace all of the bridges on the federal highway system.
Even as he was voting no on all of these issues — a lot of which would create jobs and assure that all children have access to proper health care — he has had no problem spending hundreds of billions on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
You do not have to take my word for it. Just check for yourself at the Web site www.votesmart.org. If he truly wants us to take back our government, I am afraid there would not be a place for him because he is not representing the people who elected him. He is representing whomever has the most money to tell him what to think and say.
