Lois I. Lane, 87, died at 8:24 p.m. Aug. 10, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born March 3, 1922, in Belle Center to Roy and Blanche Wallace, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lane was known for her potato salad and baked beans. She enjoyed dining at the Kewpee and Lee’s restaurants in Lima. She lived to shop and was known as a meticulous dresser and housekeeper. She was a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. She loved her dog Teddy. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She took enjoyment in being confused as Superman’s girlfriend.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie E. (Sandra) Lane, of Lima, Terry E. (Brenda) Lane, of Ashland, and Gene M. (Ruth) Lane, of Lima; a brother, Charles (Betty) Wallace, of Lima; a sister, Bernice Edgington, of Lima; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and an adopted daughter, Phyllis Fife, of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Earl Wallace; a sister, Helen McGinnis; and three grandchildren.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Gutman.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
