Johanna A. Klima

Delphos - Johanna A. Klima, 94, died at 4:20 p.m. Dec. 17, 2009, at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.

She was born July 16, 1915, in Landeck to Edward and Loretta Ernst Kill, who preceded her in death. On May 27, 1936, she married Sylvester Klima, who died Feb. 28, 1983.

Mrs. Klima was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Landeck, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include six sons, Jerome (Lorene) Klima, of Delphos, Norbert (Lucille) Klima, of Payne, Melvin (Louann) Klima, of Spencerville, Kenneth (Rita) Klima, of Antwerp, Eugene (Evelyn) Klima, of Payne, and Robert (Debra) Klima, of Ottawa Lake, Mich.; four daughters, Jolene (Ralph) Bockey, of Van Wert, Theresa (Roger) Burgei, of Cloverdale, Agnes (Terry) Burlee, of Walcott, N.Y., and Rita (William) Spencer, of Elida; a son-in-law, Richard H. Warnecke; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Hempfling; and 41 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Warnecke; four brothers, Sylvester, Clarence, Richard and Aloysious; and two sisters, Edna Freund and Mary Ellen Miller.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a CLC service will be held at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m., both of Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima/Allen County Right to Life or the Delphos Area Visiting Nurses.
