George W Kaufman , 87, died at 8:38 a.m. Feb. 11, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Auglaize County to Charlie and Glenna Meyers Kaufman. On Jan. 26, 1945, he married Eileen M. Risner, who died Aug. 18, 1983. On Aug. 7, 1984, he married Nancy Wells, who survives in Kenton.
Mr. Kaufman retired from Sheller Globe and Superior Coach. He was a former deputy sheriff and did carpentry work. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors also include two sons, Dr. Russel (Jane) Kaufman, of Philadelphia, and David (Lu Anne) Kaufman, of Circleville; a daughter-in-law, Linda Kaufman, of Columbus; four stepdaughters, Cindy (Jerry) Kirk, Susan Moeller, Jonie (Rick) Kiess and Michelle (Jeff) McLane, all of of Kenton; a stepson, Craig Allemeier, of Marion; and four grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Kaufman; three brothers Bill, Kenny and Bob Kaufman; a sister, Martha Davis; and a stepdaughter, Debra Allemeier.
Services will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. Pastor Mark Bishop will officiate. A private family burial will be at Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
