Lidwina M. Kaufman

Columbus Grove - Lidwina M. Kaufman, 96, died at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 3, 2009, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Kalida to Carl and Johanna Sanders Gerdeman, who preceded her in death. On July 3, 1948, she married Leonard J. Kaufman, who died April 27, 1974.
Mrs. Kaufman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a member of American Legion Post 516 Auxiliary, Columbus Grove. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Carl (Charlotte) Kaufman, of Glandorf, and Gilbert (Joyce) Kaufman, of Columbus Grove; a daughter, Rose (Jeff) Ducey, of Ottawa; a sister, Bernadine Miller, of Cloverdale; a son-in-law, Tom Diller, of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, Tracy (Brent) Kuhlman, Amy (Jeff) Luke, Jennifer Kaufman, Tina (Ben) Ruetz, Kim Diller, Leonard (Diana) Kaufman, Brian Kaufman, Craig Kaufman, Sherri Kaufman, Adam Kaufman, Trevor Ducey and Haley Ducey; and four great-grandchildren, Braiden and Gavin Kuhlman, Taylor Luke and Sydney Ruetz.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Diller; and three brothers, Lawrence, Otto and Al Gerdeman
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Oedy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Putnam County or the endowment fund at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
