Jeraldine V. "Jerri" Kahler

Jeraldine V. “Jerri” Kahler, 81, died at 9:05 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

She was born April 28, 1928, in Hardin County to William M. and Merle E. Crowe Preston, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 24, 1962, she married Charles “Chuck” Kahler, who died April 22, 1999.

Mrs. Kahler was a homemaker. She was a 1945 graduate of McGuffey High School. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 428, Kenton. She enjoyed growing roses.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert (Mary) Preston, of Alger, and Don (Shirley) Preston, of Ada; two sisters, Marva Lou (Bob) Hooper, of Springfield, and Sandra (Roger) Newfer, of Kenton; two sisters-in-law, Vida Preston, of Dola, and Sharon Preston, of McGuffey; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Betty) Kahler, of Dola; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Irvin; and two sisters, Helen Hensel and infant Rosaline Preston.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. The Revs. R. Scott Johnson and Chuck Zweizig will officiate. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.

Friends my call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Church of Christ or Hardin County Hospice.
