    Dorothy E. Nickell, 90, died at 5:43 p.m. Nov. 30, 2009, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.

    She was born April 9, 1919, in Hardin County to Herman and Rachel W. Ford Tracy, who preceded her in death. On May 15, 1941, she married Ronald E. Nickell, who died Jan. 11, 1998.

    Mrs. Nickell was a homemaker. She was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church, Huntsville. She was a member of Chapter 459 Order of Eastern Star, Bellefontaine, where she had been a worthy matron and had been a grand representative of Kansas in Ohio from 1979 to 1982. She had served as president of District 11 OES in 1991. She was a 1938 graduate of Huntsville School. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

    Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Melvin) Davis, of Arlington; two grandchildren, Amy R. (Michael) Rettig, of Beavercreek, and Ryan M. (Amy) Davis, of Bowling Green; two great-grandchildren, Elise Rettig and Cooper Davis; three sisters, Margie (James) Patterson, of Pickerington, Jane Jenkins, of Bellefontaine, and Ann Miller, of Cridersville; and a brother, Kay (Roxie) Tracy, of Huntsville.

    She was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey; and four brothers, Edwin F., Harold L. and two infants.

    Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Huntsville United Methodist Church, Huntsville. Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead.

    Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Myron Van Horn Chapel of Sanford-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Huntsville United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or Susan G. Koman for the Cure.
