Helen I. Hittle

Lima

Helen I. Hittle, 76, died at 2 p.m. May 15, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born July 5, 1931, in Spencerville to William Sherman and Martha Cathryn Siebert Alspaugh, who preceded her in death. On May 21, 1949, she married William Samuel Hittle, who survives in Lima.

Mrs. Hittle had worked for ARA in the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant cafeteria for 37 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church.

Survivors also include 11 children, Dee (Len) Brewster, of McEwen, Tenn., Becky (Ed) Zimmerman, Bill (Mary) Hittle, Daniel (Pennie) Hittle, Kay (Jim) Reser and Mindy (Don) Alsept, all of Lima, Sam (Christina) Hittle, of Bellefontaine, John (Ellie) Hittle, of Fort Jennings, Anna (Greg) Rice, of Spencerville, and Laura Kindle and Tim (Renee) Hittle, both of Lima; 35 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister, May Ehrnsberger, of Lima; a brother-in-law, Bill Wilkerson, of Lima; eight nieces and nephews; and her friend and caregiver, Viola Alsept.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Wilkerson.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. Pastor Dan Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
