Joe C. Hedrick
Lima - Joe C. Hedrick, 85, died at 2:53 a.m., Aug. 29, 2009 at Richland Manor Nursing Home in Bluffton.
He was born April 26, 1924 in Institute, W. Va., to William and Sylvia Bryan Hedrick. He married Mary C. Luginbuhl, who died March 31, 1998.
Mr. Hedrick retired from the Allen County Engineer’s Office. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Glenna Marquart of Jenera; three brothers, Robert (Barbara) Hedrick, of Bancroft, W. Va., Clarence (Genevieve) Hedrick, of Leesburg, Fla., and Alvin (Marie) Hedrick, of Colloden, W. Va.; four sisters, Dorothy Adams, of Huntington, W. Va., Virginia Rockhold, of Grove City; Ruby Bowles, of Dunbar, W. Va., and Katie (Bernie) Versansky of Alabama; a nephew, Al (Gloria) Neuenschwander, of Beaverdam; a stepgranddaughter, Denise (Anthony) Testa, of Leroy, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie; a brother, Bill Hedrick; a half brother John William Hedrick; and a half sister Marie.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. The Rev. Ryan Grace will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
