Velma Grace Hamp

Velma Grace Hamp, 77, died at 4 a.m. Nov. 25, 2009, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 17, 1932, in Odum, Ga., to Willie Lee and Alma Thompson Bohannon. On March 19, 1949, in Folkston, Ga., she married Melvin O. Hamp, who died Nov. 18, 2008.

Mrs. Hamp was a homemaker who cherished her family. Her kitchen was always full of the good smells of her wonderful baking. She loved to go fishing.

Survivors include a son, William L. Hamp, of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Lynnell (Gregg) Wibbeler, of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Emily (Chris) Castiglioni, Kara (John) Timm, Liza (Andy) Richardson and Joshua Hamp; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Castiglioni and Kiya Richardson; two sisters, Vera Pritchet, of Clayhill, Fla., and Helen Burch, of Lawtey, Fla.; and two brothers, Robert (Earline) Bohannon, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jim (Shelly) Bohannon, of Citra, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bohannon, and two sisters, Marge Bohannon and Jean Bohannon.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, near Moulton.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital or the Auglaize County Cancer Unit.
