Willis Joseph Hackworth

Willis Joseph Hackworth, 70, died Jan. 27, 2012, at his residence in Lima.
He was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Ellis Hackworth and Dixie Frazier-McNamara, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Hackworth worked for Churchill Construction, Green and Sawyer Construction and BP Chemical. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1969. He was involved with the Boy Scouts Pack 57 for many years. He enjoyed reading and gardening and was a history buff. His home church was Living Faith Temple, where he was involved in church maintenance and cooking for dinners.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Alan Hackworth, of Cridersville, and Matthew Joseph (Melinda) Hackworth, of Lima; two daughters, Kimberly Kay (Keith) Quelhorst and Kerri Ann Hackworth, both of Lima; a special friend, Della Harding; 10 grandchildren, Nickolas Adcock, Brittany Nichols, Adrian, Jordyn, Dillan, Dorothy and Allysun Hackworth, Taylor Van Horn-Matthew, Tanner Hackworth-Wilgus and Gage Crumrine; two brothers, Clyde Hackworth, of Lima, and Ed (Deb) Hackworth, of Greer, S.C.; and four sisters, Ellarie Cortazzo, of North Versailles, Pa., Barbara (Steve) Williams, of Vaughnsville, Shirley Clark, of Lima, and Dana Richards-Stanbury, of St. Clair Shores, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie (Larry) Lewis.
Services will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Della Harding will officiate.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
