94th Birthday — Annie Glover

94th BIRTHDAY

LIMA ‑ Annie Glover celebrated her 94th birthday on Feb. 9, 2012. In her honor, a party was held yesterday.

She was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Madison, Ga., to Bill Boswell and Lillian Chase. In September of 1941, she married Willie Glover Sr., who died in May 1983.

Mrs. Glover has three sons, Willie Glover Jr. of Kent, Harold Glover of the Philippines and Ralph (Daisy) Glover of Victorville, Calif; and two daughters Gloria (James) White and Clemmie (Arthur) Phillips Jr., both of Lima. Three sons, Nathaniel Davis, Eugene J. Glover and Roger Lee Glover, are deceased.

She attends church services and Bible study at her residence. She loves to sing, “I Have Decided To Follow Jesus,” which is her favorite son. She quotes Scripture, and her favorite is Psalm 23. She is an inactive member of the Mother's Board of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church. She encourages everyone to pray and get next to God (“that man upstairs”). She still ministers for God from her wheelchair.

Annie loves to help people. She used to collect money and fruit for organizations before she got sick. She loves giving to the needy. She also collected donations for state hospitals.

She loves her grandchildren and everyone else. She loves to play with her grandchildren. She is blessed as the matron of her family and with good health. She is a pillar of strength and a very good example of the morals she taught her children. She taught them to respect God, respect her (and all adults) and to respect themselves.
