    Franklin P. “Frank” Manger, 67, of Wapakoneta and Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Botkins, died at 10:02 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009, at Peace River Regional Medical Center, Port Charlotte, Fla.

    He was born June 3, 1942, in Shelby County to M. Robert and Helen Fisher Manger, who preceded him in death. On June 24, 1967, he married Suzanne Dietz, who survives.

    Mr. Manger was a 1960 graduate of Botkins High School. He was an Air Force veteran serving as a mechanic. He retired in 2001 as co-owner and president of BEEM Construction and had worked at Brown Welding and Schnippel Construction. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also a member of TORC and LARK radio-controlled flying clubs. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and especially enjoyed radio-controlled model airplanes. He was a favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.

    Survivors include three daughters, Paula (Tom) Krivak, of Sewickley, Pa., Kristine (Tim) Mesker, of West Chester, and Deanna (Andy) Morris, of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren, Courtney and Thomas Krivak and Erica and Conner Mesker; a sister, Nancy Eyink, of Wapakoneta; a brother, Robert M. (Dottie) Manger, of Wapakoneta; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Manger, of West Jefferson, and Marge (Jesse) Rupert, of Houston, Texas; and a brother-in-law, Gene (Barb) Dietz, of Lima.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Johnny Manger; and a sister, Ruth Schaub.

    A memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. The Rev. Matthew Lee will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.

    Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Schlosser Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, where a prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or to the family who will forward them to various missionary churches in Florida.
