CRIDERSVILLE — The Ford Galaxie was a full-size car built by Ford from 1959 through 1974. The name was used in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the space race. It was Ford's counterpart to the Chevrolet Impala. Some Galaxies were high performance racing machines, others were just plain family sedans. The 1965 Ford Galaxie was an all-new design. It featured vertically stacked dual headlights, with a taller and bulkier build.
Frank Spinnati, of Cridersville, brought his 1965 Ford Galaxie to The Lima News' Real Wheels Cruise-In. He has owned it for 15 years. The car was in primer when he bought it. The car boasts electric doors and a custom grille. His best memory is the day he finished it and drove it.
