Mary Elizabeth Roberts Stauffer

Mary Elizabeth Roberts Stauffer, 64, died at 3 a.m. Dec. 23, 2009, at her residence.

She was born March 14, 1945, in Paducah, Ky., to Jewel and Pearl Russell Cornwell, who preceded her in death. She married Harold E. “Gene” Roberts Sr., who preceded her in death. On Feb. 8, 1992, she married Phillip W. “Phil”  Stauffer, who survives in Harrod.

Mrs. Stauffer had worked at Yocum Realty and Comfort Keepers. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and crafts. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and two cats, Sophie and Strayer.

Survivors also include two sons, James Walter “Jim” Roberts and Harold E “Harry” (Teresa) Roberts Jr., both of Harrod; a daughter, Elizabeth Darlene “Darla” Roberts, of Harrod; two stepsons, Brent W. (Dionne) Stauffer, of Crestview, Fla., and Craig A. Stauffer, of Lima; two brothers, Gerald Wayne (Irene) Cornwell, of North Port, Fla., and Therman Lee (Joanne) Cornwell, of Chicago; a sister, Eva Lee Smith, of Corunna, Mich.; several nieces and nephews, including Jeannie Robinson, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two grandchildren, Nolan Eugene and Morgan Lynn Roberts; and five stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Brown; and a sister, Thelma Mae Beale.

Services were held Monday. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
