Buddy Edward May Sr., 79, died at 12:05 a.m. Dec. 16, 2009, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Waynesfield to Charles Albert and Marie Velma Rohr May, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 4, 1999, he married Geraldine “Gerri” Hall, who survives.

Mr. May had been a guard at Lima Correctional Institution for 25 years. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, where he had been the doorman. He loved to play guitar and sing along, but most of all, he was a family man, who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors also include two sons, Budd May Jr., of Maumee, and Ron (Mary) May, of Toledo; three stepchildren, David (Carla) Luke, of Pandora, Kelly (Mike) Brown, of Waynesfield, and Anthony (Teresa) Luke, of Delphos; and eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.

Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Kline will officiate.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
