Pandora
Karen J. Eastman, 58, died at 3:35 p.m. Dec. 7, 2009, at her residence.
She was born May 22, 1951, in Sidney to Avery and Roxie Martin Poole. Her father survives in Lima and her mother preceded her in death.
Ms. Eastman was a homemaker and had retired as a toolmaker from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and reading. She was a wonderful artist who shared a lot of her worked with various schools. She attended Elida High School and was a graduate of Northwestern Business College. She was a licensed insurance agent. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and fiancée. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.
Survivors also include six children, Toni (Aron) Derstine, of Delaware, Ohio, Brad (Keyll) Stemen, of Findlay, Shawnda Eastman, of Lewis Center, Tina (James) Jordan, of California, and Katie Roe and Haley Roe, both at home; a sister, Pam Bowman, of Columbus Grove; her fiancé, Jim Kyzer, of Pandora; nine grandchildren, Connor, Josie, Alyssa and Eli Derstine, of Delaware, Ohio, Summer and Ethan Stemen, of Findlay, Erika (Jeremy) Via and Christopher Gerhardstein, both of Columbus, and Jennifer (Chris) Balmer, of Bluffton; and three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Reagan and Amara.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jerry Bowman; and a great-grandson, Mikel Pitson.
Private services will be held. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for her daughters Katie and Haley.
