Dan “Patch” Kimmet

Leipsic

Dan “Patch” Kimmet, 39, died at 1:44 a.m. Oct. 23, 2009, at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf.

He was born Nov. 12, 1969, in Findlay to John Kimmet and Joyce Prowant Kimmet Brinkman. His father preceded him in death. His mother and stepfather, Carl Brinkman, survive in Leipsic.

Mr. Kimmet was a machine operator at Patrick Plastics, Leipsic. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9547 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2793, both in Leipsic. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Persian Gulf War.

Survivors also include his stepgrandfather, Rollie Ruskey Jr.; two nephews, Matthew Berger and Connor Guevara; a niece, Savannah Guevara; two sisters, Shannon Guevara and Cassea Brinkman, both of Leipsic; and two stepbrothers, Shannon Brinkman, of Georgia, and DeWayne (Mary) Brinkman, of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clarence and Elizabeth Kimmet; maternal grandparents, Paul E. Prowant and Wilma Ruskey.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. Father Alfons Minja and Deacon Tom Niese will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 9547.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leipsic Athletic Boosters.
