Richard Edward Smith, 67, died Aug. 14, 2010, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Hazard, Ky., to James Daniel and Lois Marie Meyers Smith. His mother survives in Elida. On June 10, 1995, in Lake Dallas, Texas, he married Rae Nell Causseaux, who survives in Krugerville.
Mr. Smith was employed by the Lake Dallas Independent School District in the maintenance department until his retirement. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors also include two daughters, Sherri Lynn Bocanegra, of Anna, Texas, and Amy Marie Betbeze, of Richardson, Texas; a stepdaughter, Carol Jeanne’ Robinson, of Aubrey, Texas; a son, Richard Tobias Smith, of Dallas; two stepsons, Joseph Bruce Causseaux, of Lewisville, Texas, and Jon Phillip Causseaux, of Columbus; two sisters, Gerry Lynn Koch, of Lima, and Annabella Riffle, of Elida; a brother, Leland J. Smith, of Lawton, Okla.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, Denton, Texas. Mitch Raines and Leland Smith will officiate.
Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
