Easter services listing

A variety of Easter services will be offered throughout the area today and Sunday.  Buckland United Church of Christ will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday at the church, 213 N. Main St., Buckland. That will be followed by a breakfast. At the 10:30 a.m. service, Holy Communion will be offered, and the choir will present its Easter cantata.  Cable Road Alliance Church will offer a service of baptism and testimonies at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday in the Family Life Center of the church, 2264 N. Cable Road, Lima. During that time, a free continental breakfast will be served. At 10:30 a.m., an Easter Celebration Service will begin in the main auditorium.  Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 525 W. North St., Lima. At 9:30 a.m., an egg hunt and Resurrection celebration will be held. The Easter worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m.  The Columbus Grove Community Easter sunrise service will begin at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at St. John Methodist Church. The community choir will perform the cantata, “My Savior, My God,” under the direction of Skyler Mayberry. Accompanist will be Heather Stechschulte.  Crossroads Church of God will offer a 6 p.m. Easter service today at the church, 775 S. Thayer Road, Lima. On Easter Sunday, services will be held at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m.  Dupont Church of the Brethren will offer a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. on Easter, with a breakfast to follow at 7:30 a.m. Following the 9 a.m. Sunday school, the worship service will begin at 10 a.m.  Elm Street Church of the Brethren will host an Easter Celebration at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 619 E. Elm St., Lima. That service will include the message, “Raised With Christ,” and special music. Prior to that, pastry and coffee will be served, beginning at 9:45 a.m.  Family of Faith United Methodist Church will celebrate Easter at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, at which time Pastor Jim Loescher will dicuss, “Lost: One Savior.” The choir anthem will be “Crown Him Lord of All.”  First Baptist Church will offer a sunrise service at 8 a.m. Easter Sunday at the church, 451 N. Cable Road, Lima. Following the 9:15 a.m. Sunday School, a coffee hour will be held from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., the morning worship service will begin.  First Church of the Nazarene will offer a SonRise service at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday at the church, 300 Elm St., Lima. Following that, an 8 a.m. breakfast will be served. Following the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school, the Easter musical, “Eyes of Faith,” will begin at 10:35 a.m.  First United Methodist Church of Bluffton will offer its Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 116 Church St., Bluffton.  Forest Park United Methodist Church will host a Resurrection Service at 7 a.m. Sunday in the chapel of the church, at the corner of Linden and Collins streets, Lima. An Easter breakfast will be served in the Family Life Center at 7:45 a.m. The Easter Worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Fresh Word Temple will offer a celebration service at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church, 530 S. Main St., Lima.  Harrod Christian Church will celebrate Easter at the 10:30 a.m. Resurrection Celebration at the church, 273 S. Main St., Harrod. Prior to that, a 7 a.m. sunrise service will be held at Harrod United Methodist Church.  Immanuel Lutheran Church will begin a Vigil of Easter at 6 p.m. today, which will include Holy Communion, at the church, 2120 Lakewood Ave., Lima. On Easter Sunday, the services, with Holy Communion, will begin at 7:30 and 10 a.m.  Immanuel United Methodist Church will host an Easter cantata at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services Easter Sunday at the church, 699 Sunnydale Ave., Elida. Prior to that, a sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. at Salem Mennonite Church.  Lafayette Congregational Christian Church will host a 7 a.m. sunrise service on Easter Sunday at the church, 205 W. Main St., Lafayette. Following that, a breakfast will be served in the fellowship hall. The 10:30 a.m. worship service will feature the sermon, “The Hope of the Resurrection.”  Market Street Presbyterian Church will host a Service of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday. The organ prelude by Dwane Grace will begin at 9:45 a.m. The church is located at 1100 W. Market St., Lima.  The Mendon First Church of God will celebrate Easter at the 9 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 106 N. Wayne St., Mendon. That will be followed at 10 a.m. by Sunday School.  Mendon United Methodist Church will offer an Easter service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, on Market Street in Mendon. That will be followed with an Easter dinner, which will be served from noon to 3 p.m.  New Creation Lutheran Church will begin an Easter Vigil at 4:30 p.m. today at 109 W. Main St., Elida. On Sunday, an Easter breakfast will be served from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the church, 2701 Allentown Road, Lima. That will be followed by the 10 a.m. Easter service there.  New Faith Missionary Church will host an Easter carry-in breakfast at 9 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1660 Lutz Road, Lima. The morning worship will begin at 10 a.m., with Pastor Richard Hart presenting the singing sermon, “The Unchanging Story.”  The Pandora Church of Christ will serve an 8 a.m. breakfast Easter Sunday at the church, located at the corner of Pearl and Monroe streets, Pandora. That will be followed by the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  Perry United Methodist Church will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. today at the church, 3250 E. Breese Road, Lima. On Sunday, Easter sunrise service will begin at 8 a.m. At 9 a.m., an Easter breakfast will be served, followed at 10 a.m. by the Easter Sunday service.  The Rousculp Church of Christ will offer Easter services at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the church, 890 Amherst Road, Lima. A free breakfast will be served from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  St. Gerard Catholic Church will hold an Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. today at the church, 240 W. Robb Ave., Lima. On Easter Sunday, Masses will be held at 8:30 and 11 a.m.  St. Mark United Methodist Church will host a sunrise dramatic service at 7:30 a.m. Easter Sunday at the church, 1110 N. Metcalf St., Lima. A breakfast will be served after that. Following a 9 a.m. Sunday School, the Easter service will begin at 10:15 a.m.  St. Matthew Lutheran Church will offer festival Communion services at 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday. The church is located at 5050 St. Matthews Drive, Lima.  St. Paul United Methodist Church will host a sunrise service, “Jesus is Alive,” at 7:30 a.m. Easter Sunday at the church, 105 E. Main St., Elida. That service will be presented by St. Paul’s Puppet Ministry. At 10:30 a.m., the chancel choir will sing during the worship service.  SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will hold an Easter Vigil, beginning at 8 p.m. today at the church, 307 N. Locust St., Ottawa. On Sunday, Easter Masses will be said at 8, 10, and 11:30 a.m.  Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will offer Lauds (morning prayers) at 9 a.m. today at the church, 4945 state Route 81, Ada. On Sunday, an Easter vigil celebration with the Holy Eucharist will begin at 7 a.m. An Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. will be followed with an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. Sunday School for all ages will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the Sunday Service starting at 10:30 a.m.  Youth from The Oasis on West Elm United Church of Christ will serve an Easter breakfast at 9 a.m. at the church, 1606 W. Elm St., Lima. The Easter service will follow that, at 10:30 a.m.  Trinity United Methodist Church will offer a Holy Saturday Easter Vigil, beginning at 7 p.m. today at the church, 301 W. Market St., Lima. On Easter Sunday, a 9 a.m. breakfast will precede the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  Unity Church of Lima will observe Easter with its Flower Service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1230 Brice Ave., Lima.  Zion Lutheran Church will hold a contemporary Easter worship service at 5 p.m. today at the church, 1300 Edgewood Drive, Lima. On Sunday, Easter worship services will be offered at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.  Zion Lutheran Church of St. Marys will offer an Easter sunrise worship service at 7 a.m. Sunday at the church, 210 N. Wayne St., St. Marys. An Easter breakfast will follow at 8 a.m., and the Easter worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Both worship services will include the offering of Holy Communion.
