Charles W. “Chuck” Weirick, 69, died Sept. 22, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Mount Vernon to George Weirick and Sylvia Fletcher McKenzie, who preceded him in death. On March 18, 1974, in Russells Point, he married Christine Buck, who survives.
Mr. Weirick was a graduate of Mansfield High School. He was an Air Force veteran. He retired as a journeyman plumber and pipe fitter from General Dynamics, after 18 years. He owned and operated Green Valley Lawn & Landscaping for 25 years. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1533, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3615 and AMVETS Post 39, all in Lakeview. He enjoyed spending time in his garage, designing landscaping, being a salesman and being a jokester. He especially enjoyed bragging about his “Little Buddy,” his grandson.
Survivors also include two children, DeShawn Weirick, of Toledo, and Chad (Katie) Weirick, of Newark; a grandson, Kaleb Weirick, of Lakeview; and a nephew, Ray Weirick.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred McKenzie.
Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Pastor Rob Kilgore will officiate.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Universal Home Health & Hospice Care, Bellefontaine.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Robert and Lisa, members of Christ United Methodist Church, and the staff of Universal Home Health & Hospice Care.
