Harrod
Charles Michael Carse, 65, of Sandusky, formerly of Harrod, died at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 26, 2009, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born April 20, 1944, in Cleveland to Richard M. and Lucille D. Carse, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Janis Hays Carse, who survives in Harrod.
Mr. Carse was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1963 to 1967. He had been a staff sergeant serving as a Green Beret with the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam and the 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, N.C. Following his discharge, he was a technician in the artificial heart research department at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland. He was a 1979 graduate of Ohio Northern University, Ada. He had a career in industrial management.
Survivors also include a son, Nathan B. Carse, of Harrod; two daughters, Megan (Matthew) Brown, of Ada, and Kristin (Jacob) Purdy, of Mililani, Hawaii; two grandsons, Jackson M.C. Brown and Aidin M. Brown; a brother, Richard (Arlene) Carse, of New Braunfels, Texas; a nephew, Jason (Stacy) Carse, of Madisonville, La.; and a niece, Julie (Jason) Cronkhite, of New Braunfels, Texas.
Private family services were held. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
