Real Wheels: 1993 Lincoln Town Car

DELPHOS — The Lincoln Town Car was a full-size luxury sedan sold by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company from 1981 to 2011. The Town Car name first appeared in the Lincoln line in 1922, on a custom-built Lincoln made for Henry Ford. It is the most commonly used limousine and chauffeured car in the United States and Canada. Its large dimensions made it the largest car in production in North America. From 1997 to 2011, the Town Car was the longest car built, measuring nearly 18 feet in length. It became one of America's best selling full-size luxury sedan. A special Signature Series sedan came to the market in 1992 and continued through 1997: the Jack Nicklaus Signature Series. This car featured a green body with a white vinyl top with white leather interior trimmed in green. Most of these editions have ornaments and wording on the exterior trimmed in gold including green and gold “Golden Bear” badges on the front fenders.

Connie Truesdale, of Delphos, owns this 1993 Lincoln Town Car. It is the Jack Nicklaus Signature Series. Truesdale and her husband purchased the car from the auction block five years ago. Her husband is now deceased, but she still has the good old Lincoln. Truesdale says it has never refused to start, and she loves it. There is no rust anywhere on the body, and the engine is clean. All memories of this car are good ones in Truesdale's book, “he's a good car.”
