Susan Virginia Malott Born, 70, died the morning of Oct. 6, 2009, in Allen County.

She was born May 7, 1939, in Wood County to Harold Marion and Edna Mary Llewellyn Malott, who preceded her in death. Her stepfather, George Mayer, survives in Cridersville. On Nov. 19, 1960, at Lafayette Methodist Church, Lafayette, she married Donald Eugene Born Sr., who survives.

Mrs. Born was a 1957 graduate of Thompson Township School in Seneca County. She had been a legal secretary in Lima and then a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, genealogy and spending winters in Florida.

Survivors also include three sons, Donald (Loretta) Born Jr., of Waynesfield, and Darren Born and John Born, both of Lima; a daughter, Paula (Ben) Gehle, of Lima; seven grandchildren, Craig Paxson, Nicholas Gehle and William, Christopher, Taylor, David and Matthew Born; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Seth Gehle; and two sisters, Marilyn (Don) Stark, of Lima, and Carolyn Duff, of Waynesfield.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Henry Malott.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue. Pastor JoAnne Powers will officiate. Burial will be in LaRue Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
