Lela Bernice Aldred

Lima - Lela Bernice Aldred, 85, formerly of Waterford, Mich., died at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 25, 2009 at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.

She was born May 24, 1924 in Terre Haute, Ind. to Charles Russell and Carrie Davis Smith, who preceded her in death. She married Clarence “Justin” Aldred, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Aldred was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyliss (Dan) Cronenwett, of Middle Point; two sons, Garry (Vickie) Aldred of Ortonville, Mich. and Clarence Justin Aldred Jr., of Adrian, Mich.; a brother- and sister-in-law Jim and Beverly Aldred Knight of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; five grandchildren, Donna Cronenwett, of Lima, Brian (Jennifer) Cronenwett, of  Missouri, Jeffrey Daniel Cronenwett, of Arizona, Amy Aldred Simpson, of Michigan and Robin (Frank) Arnon, of Nevada; eight great-grandchildren, including Daniel Francis Cronenwett, of Decatur, Ind.

She was preceded in death by two children, and a brother, Robert E. Lee Smith.

Graveside Services will be held at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Waterford, Michigan, at a later date.
