Emily M. Kahle

Kalida - Emily M. Kahle, 20, died at 1:10 p.m. Nov. 19, 2009, at Karmanos Cancer Center, Detroit.

She was born Jan. 28, 1989, in Lima to Scott and Sheryl Schmersal Kahle, who survive in Kalida.

Miss Kahle was a studying business the University of Toledo. She worked at Adecco, Toledo. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. She was a member of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society. She loved spending time with her family and friends, college life, listening to music and shopping.

Survivors also include a brother, Kyle Kahle, of Kalida; special friend, Brandon Stechschulte, of Kalida; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Nancy Schmersal, of Kalida; great-grandparents, Bernadine Hoersten, of Delphos, and Bill and Marie Schmersal, of Kalida; six aunts and uncles, Roger (Lisa) Unverferth, Terry (Triena) Kahle and Mark “Virgil” (Deb) Kahle, all of Kalida, Gary (Michelle) Kahle, of Germantown, Tenn., Brian Schmersal, of Pandora, and Gina (Derrick Burroughs) Schmersal, of Toledo; and 12 cousins, Neil Unverferth, of Columbus, Matt and Lori Goedde, both of West Liberty, Kim Unverferth, of Kalida, Tyler and Morgan Kahle, both of Germantown, Tenn., Jacob and Katelyn Kahle, of Kalida, David, Sarah and Olivia Kallay, all of Toledo, and Brandon Schmersal, of Pandora.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Leonard and Anna Rose Kahle; and great-grandparents, Tony Hoersten and Helen Schmersal.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Father Mark Hoying will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Karmanos Bone Marrow Transplant Research, the new Kalida Community Park or the National Bond Marrow Registry, c/o Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
